Tom Wassermann is best known for his Pop Art series of Great American Nudes, depicting faceless nude women. In the 1960's, Tom Wesslemann created art in a variety of media including paintings, drawings and collage. In addition, Wesselman created his signature shaped canvases and also created Great American Nudes using molded plastic.
The precise nature of the vacuum-formed plexiglas medium used in Tom Weselmann's Great American Nude (I.C.A. 6), 1966 translated the artist's iconic use sinuous painting into a more sculptural form.
This charming miniature Great American Nude is a multiple Tom Wesselmann created for Rosa Esman of Tangelewood Press. Created in an edition of only 75 impressions plus 24 Artist Proofs, Little Nude was originally included in Tanglewood's 7 Objects in a Box series. The impression we are offering for sale is in remarkable condition, the colors fresh and vibrant. Due to the nature of the material, most impressions of this multiple have not survived without considerable damage.
