Nathan Louis " Nat " Finkelstein ( 1933 - 2009 ) was an American photographer and photojournalist. His work primarily focused on political developments and various subcultures in New York City in the 1960's. In 1964, Finkelstein entered Andy Warhol's " Factory " as a photojournalist and remained there for three years. His photographs from this period are now regarded as some of the most iconic of that time. Finkelstein's photography has been the subject of more than 75 exhibitions worldwide, and is held in the collections of many of the most prestigious museums. One of the most significant revolutions in the Post-War art world took place during the 1960's inside a ramshackle studio in New York known as The Factory. Nat Finkelstein was there with his camera, documenting not only the gradual emergence of a now revered scene, but also the birth of Pop Art at the calculating hands of its iconic creator, Andy Warhol.
